Synopsis

A one-dimensional Mn(III) chain, [MnIII(5-Brsalen)(μ1,3-NCNH)]n, is constructed by a hydrogencyanamide bridge, and the chains are further connected to a 3-D network through hydrogen bonding. At low temperature, the compound shows weak ferromagnetism due to spin canting and an unusual spin reorientation induced by an applied field.
